Technological Jealousy
I'm sitting here on my MacBook. I love my MacBook, but now Derick has a pretty hardcore amazing MacBook Pro and I'm uber jealous. His also came with it's very own sidekick iPod touch.

Happy September
As we head into September, a job in retail is really the WORST place for me to be. Fall clothing fills me with joy as we begin to pull out cozy jeans, sweaters and boots. There's nothing in the world I enjoy more than clothes shopping for Fall. I look back on these fashionable layered pieces with such sentiment. They are the clothing I associate with Rebel Football games, haunted houses, the beginning of a new school year (all of which I miss so very much), and Halloween.
The smells, tastes, colors, and overall feelings of Autumn renew and refresh me at a time when the earth around me is beginning to go to sleep. Autumn is supposed to be just as much a time of death as Spring is of rebirth, but for me it's a new opportunity. I always think of the optimism that a new year brought me when starting back to school.
Derick started school this week. We got him a new backpack to commemorate and tomorrow we buy him his brand new laptop. He has a great deal of homework and various other annoying expectations ahead of him, but also he is forging a new path for himself into uncharted territory. I am very proud of him for so bravely taking on this journey. He's going to be an amazing teacher. The students who will come into contact with him are extremely lucky, I know I'm lucky to have him.
Now, all I want is a hot apple cider and some high school football. I want to be wearing a warm jewel tone sweater, my jeans and boots with a light jacket. While I would never say that High School was full of only fantastic memories, it did create in me a serious love of Fall and all it brings. Friday nights September-November are about Rebel Football to me and that may never change.
